Man in the High Castle Review
By Phillip K. Dick
The Man in the High Castle examines an alternate history that could have been if the Axis powers had won World War II. The United States is no more and is ruled from the Atlantic coast to the Rocky Mountains by the Nazis and from the Pacific to the Rockies by the Japanese. Africa’s population has been completely decimated by Nazi experiments and home furnishing factories and Jews resort to plastic surgery to avoid discovery. Through all of this, an illegal book is circulating that tells a tale of a world where the Axis powers were defeated by the Allies and how that world might look, a world similar and different from our own.
